Mele Kalikimaka 020710

I really enjoyed the responses to my last post about your own artful experiences. That’s pretty cool! This weekend was pretty busy and didn’t allow much time for stitching. I did put in a little time on Mele K. though. I finished up the cloud and now it’s all sky left to do and a minute amount of backstitching. I think I started this in March of 2008, so it would be really nice to finish it up before the two year mark rolls around!

Saturday afternoon, I was planted in front of my sewing machine working on a project for Eric. He needed sandbags for the photo studio, so I was sewing some up for him out of the legs of old jeans.

Making Sand Bags

I did a little bit of stitching Saturday afternoon, before Eric and I headed out for date night. I decided to work on Shores some more since I was so close to finishing up Block 1. I think I made pretty good progress on it!

Shores 020710

Sunday afternoon I was helping a friend, but after dinner Eric and I settled in to watch some more episodes of West Wing. I was able to finish up my block!

After finishing up Block 1, I started ripping out the partially stitched Block 2. You may remember I was test-stitching with two strands of thread in Block 2. I’ve decided to go with one thread, because I didn’t like how my stitches were laying with two. So, out the stitching comes. I’m really pleased to have Block 1 finished though. And I’m really happy with how that over one tent stitch came out around the L.

Before I sign off, I wanted to show a slightly better photo of my gift from my Secret Stitcher since my photos the other day were so abysmal.

I love it – it’s just too pretty for words. And one of the reasons that I picked the Christmas ornament that I did at our exchange was because it had our guild’s initials and the year on it. So that’s one of the many things I love about this piece too. Beautiful.

I am grateful for letting go of my anger.

Michelle, you’re making wonderful progress on Shores, it’s beautiful! Mele is looking fantastic too, you’re so close to being done.

We treated ourselves to the complete West Wing box set for Christmas and are almost done with Season 1 – I absolutely love this show! 🙂 Only problem is, I don’t get much stitching done when I’m watching it, as I have to concentrate on what’s going on with all the characters LOL!
