Five Fathoms Down

Mermaid Fraktur

At the end of 2016 I was asked if I would be interested in doing some model stitching for my newly reopened LNS, The Stitch Niche. The new owners are working hard to get some new models up in the shop, which I thought was a wonderful idea. They asked me to stitch on of Paulette’s (Plum Street Samplers) new designs, Mermaid Fraktur. They had chosen 36 count Earthen by Picture This Plus, which I think was a brilliant choice, and the called for threads.

2016 WIPdown

In 2015, I focused a lot on my quilt WIPs and working my way through them.  I was very pleased at the end of the year to have made great strides in that arena.  I started with my oldest WIP and with each I finished, I moved on to the next in line (oldest […]

Rolling Along

Thanks for all the comments on my last post.  It’s been fun working on some summery projects while the mood strikes.  Although I haven’t worked on it in awhile, I thought I would share my latest progress on And They Sinned.  The photo above is basically the middle (the fold) on page two.  I’ve been […]

Summer Stitches

Hi, everyone!  I hope you’re all having a wonderful summer.  I’ve been working on a couple of projects that just seemed like the perfect thing for summertime.  You may remember a while back I started the Tula Pink Hex on the Beach quilt.  It was an English Paper Piecing (EPP) kit that was offered at […]

Good Tidings

Every year for the past several years I have started a new stitching project on New Year’s Day.  And somehow giving a piece that distinction makes it special to me.  I suppose for me it’s a way of celebrating and honoring the new year.  Some of my past New Year’s starts have been Mystery IX […]

Closing Out the Year

I appreciate you all being patient while I play post catch up here.  This post though, as you can tell from the title, is the last of things I wanted to share with you from the end of 2013.   I was very excited when Paulette announced she would be doing a Sunday Mystery SAL back […]

The View Above

The past few months it seems I’ve been stitching on a series of things that I couldn’t share – but now they can be revealed!  In early December, I attended the annual Tudor Rose Sampler Guild holiday party.  I’ve enjoyed attending each year but always find that I’m down to the wire getting my ornament […]

It’s Friday, Y’all!

I’m back with some fun things to share with you today from when Eric and I went to the State Fair back in October.  You know seeing the Creative Arts and Textiles building is always high on my list and it’s always fun to see the pieces people have entered.  I hope you enjoy getting […]

Summer to Fall

Thank you so much for all the comments on my John Reed finish.  And apologies to those of you who wanted to leave comments, but couldn’t.  It seems to be some sort of hit or miss thing with either blogger or this template I’m using since some people could leave comments and some couldn’t.  So […]

John Reed

I barely know where to begin.  I’m so happy to finally be posting photos of this finish, but at the same time it’s a little bittersweet.  You may remember that I lost my dad last year, February of 2012.  And there have been a couple of pieces stitched in his honor, one by my sweet […]

A Rainy Monday in September

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready for Fall.  While I hate the fact that this year seems to be going by so quickly, yesterday’s 105 degree temps had me yearning for some cooler days.  I know it’s been awhile since I shared any stitching progress with you, and lest you think I […]

Remember October?

October is always a super busy month for Eric and I and last October seemed to be even more jam-packed than normal.  In fact it was so full that I’m only just now getting around to editing and sharing some of the photos.  We always go to the State Fair in October, and one of […]
